We’re well into panto-chosing season, so here’s some inspiration of the kind of numbers you can pick for your production. Listen away and enjoy.
The Opening Number
Let Me Entertain You – Robbie Williams
This is a real show-stopper of an opening song. It’s the perfect thing that will hit your audience square between the eyes when the curtain opens at the beginning of Act I. Not only is it really well known, it’s got such a great drum beat to it, and plenty of opportunity for chorus involvement.
The Celebration or Finale Number
Can’t Stop The Feeling
This was the feel-good number of 2017, a hit from the film Trolls by Justin Timberlake. It’s got a really catchy melody, and is super useful in lots of different panto situations. It’s sure to put a smile on your audience’s face.
The Dame’s Number
All About That Bass
It’s a couple of years old now, but this is a great number for a Dame, especially if yours has great rhythm but isn’t the best singer. It’s very easy to really ‘perform’ this piece well without being vocally proficient, but equally is a star number for a dame who can sing as well.
Look What You Made Me Do – Taylor Swift
One of the new tracks on Taylor Swift’s new album, this is a killer number for a baddie, especially if you have a good choreographer and dancers too. It’s got great rhythm, it’s been on the radio a lot recently and it’s so catchy. Your cast will learn it in 2 seconds flat.
